Why did you decide on a Dental Field? My grandfather, aunt, uncle and father were all dentists. I loved visiting the Schenectady office growing up and saw the impact that dentistry can have on patients’ lives!

Hobbies and Interests: Being a cool dad, photography, skiing and playing bass guitar

What is something people don’t know about you? Played bass in a band throughout high school, college and into dental school

What is your favorite food? My mom’s homemade macaroni and sauce

The first job I ever had: Farming strawberries

Why did you decide on a Dental Field? After sustaining a big dental trauma as a child, and having received great dental care, I decided to become a Dentist. This decision occurred at age 9 when I realized how important dentistry is for health, function and for confidence.

Hobbies and Interests: Spending time with our kids, playing tennis, always growing, learning and creating : )

What is something people don’t know about you? I was a ball girl at U.S. Open and met many professional Tennis players.

What is your favorite food? Everything, as long as it is not spicy!

Dr. Emma's passion for dentistry took root in middle school during a weeklong internship with her family's dentist in the Thousand Islands, where she grew up, and grew through summers spent working in that office throughout high school. She studied Dental Hygiene in Ottawa, Ontario, then worked as a hygienist in Canada before earning her U.S. licensure and joining Salvatore Dental as a dental hygienist from 2015 to 2020. Wanting to expand the care she could offer, she completed her bachelor's degree at SUNY Albany and went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery at NYU College of Dentistry, followed by a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center.

Dr. Emma is committed to making every patient feel comfortable, heard, and at ease, taking a gentle, patient-centered approach that helps put even nervous patients at ease and encourages them to ask questions. Outside the practice, she's a wife to Michael and mother to Cavanagh and Whitney (plus their German Shepherd, Ned), often found cheering Cavanagh on at hockey, riding her Peloton in the early mornings, or traveling with her family.

The first job I ever had: Barista.

Why did you decide on a dental field: I like to keep things clean and organized and the hygiene field is all about keeping people’s mouths nice and clean. I also love people and it is great because I see a lot of people every day!

Hobbies and Interests: Volleyball, sewing, organizing, biking, hiking, and eating chicken wings.

What is something people do not know about you: I used to tailor all my clothes growing up because nothing would ever fit.

What is your favorite food: Chicken wings.

Why did you decide in the dental field? It's a field that combines science and art that offers a unique opportunity to help people improve their oral health which contribute to overall wellness.

What is your favorite thing about being a hygienist? Being able to help my patients by using our advanced tools to help with precision and make them comfortable. The reward is watching their smile and oral health improve.

What is something people don't know about you? I have a bachelors in accounting

Hobbies and Interests: Baking, swimming, skiing, yoga, gardening and spending time with friends and family

What hygiene school did you attend? Hudson Valley

Why did you decide on the dental field? I have always had an interest in the Dental field but fell in love with the job as soon as we were able to take patients in the program. I enjoy catching up with my patients and getting to know them.

What is your favorite part about being a hygienist? Helping people and getting their health back. I really love getting to know them!

How do you help nervous patients? I let them know that they are in good hands! The dental office isn't everyone's favorite place but we make it as good of an experience as we can!

Hobbies and interests: Being a mom and working out

What is something that people don't know about you? I played soccer and basketball my whole life!

What is your favorite food? Tacos!

What hygiene school did you attend? HVCC

Why did you decide to go in the dental field? started in nursing and didn't love it. I researched dental hygiene started the orientation and fell in love!

What is your favorite thing about being a hygienist? Educating patients, teaching them things they know about oral to overall systemic health and of course, the satisfactory before and after!

How do you help nervous patients? Accommodating them in any way I can, verbalizing what the appt will entail and just being myself!

Hobbies and Interests: spending time w/ family- my boys and soon to be Baby girl and hubby!!

What is something people do not know about you? Ask and you shall receive! Im an open book!!

The first job I ever had: Learn to skate coach!

Why did you decide on the dental field? I knew I wanted to be in the health care field. I was inspired by my mom who spent her career helping others. I was drawn to the dental field because I wanted to help. What I didn't expect is to fall in love with dental, helping our patients regain not only their proper oral and overall health but also restore their confidence, self-worth and change their view on dentistry. I love that everyday I get to do something I truly believe in and I am passionate about.

Hobbies and Interests: Spending time with my daughter and husband, we spend a lot of time outdoors and at the ice rinks supporting her love of skating. I love to do continuing education courses so I can better myself in all aspects of life. I also enjoy crafts, baking and reading!

What is something people do not know about you? I've been to Disney over 30 times and I was on a cooking show with my cousin Josh when I was younger!

What is your favorite food? Steak and mashed potatoes with Garlic Butter, followed by cheesecake!

Why did you decide on a Dental Field? I have always loved to get my teeth cleaned.

Hobbies and Interests: Going to the gym, taking my Golden on walks.

What is something people don’t know about you? I was a competitive Dancer growing up.

Why did you decide on a dental field? Growing up I had many issues with my teeth and I want to help anyone with similar issues and give them a positive experience.

Why did you decide on a dental field? I decided on getting into the dental field because beauty goes along with confidence. I wanted to start a career that truly can change the way people feel and see themselves. I started here and instantly knew this was the right place! It turned into a passion for helping others!!

Hobbies and Interests: Makeup has been one of my favorite hobbies since I was young! I love to be creative and I love to do other people's makeup too! Self-expression, beauty, and confidence make me happy!!

What is something people do not know about you? I was on national TV!!

What is your favorite food? My mom's chicken AND Fred the butcher wraps!!

The first job I ever had: Cashier at Michael's

Why did you decide on the dental field? When I was a kid and went to my first cleaning, I had a hygienist that made me feel comfortable and love going to each visit. When I got out of high school, I almost went to become a hygienist! Over the years I've learned more about teeth and oral health and it is so fascinating. Working at Salvatore Dental as a scheduling coordinator has been great and working in an atmosphere where we help people is rewarding.

What is something people do not know about you? I've been interviewed by a news station and it was broadcasted

Why did you decide on the dental field? I found out real estate wasn't the best fit for me and decided to pursue my interest in dental.
